Therapy for Adolescents and Young Adults

By September 15, 2014Kids and Adolescents

Although experienced working with children as young as five in a Play Therapy environment, presently I am working with those of high school age or older who are able to verbally express themselves well. The most important element is that your adolescent wants to communicate with someone they feel can help them unravel the tangled emotions they are having difficulty coping with. This could relate to his or her own behaviour or that of another or a group. Adolescents that are 14 and older have the legal right to confidentiality. For those that are of this age, I find it important to allow a sense of responsibility for the appointments. It is only in this manner that the therapeutic process can be meaningful.
